PHILIPPINE TECHNOLOGICAL COUNCIL will be holding its “5th Philippine Engineering Summit (PhES 5.0),” at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City, Iloilo, Philippines on August 25 to 26, with this year’s theme: “Engineering a Better Future: Creating Sustainable and Inclusive Communities.”

 

Supported by all 13 Engineering Professional Organizations in the Philippines, the event will be a supreme and premier gathering for all engineering professionals and collegiate from various disciplines and areas of expertise across the country from local and national governments, constitutional offices, Government-Owned and/or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs), private sector, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), United Nations Agencies, and other international organizations.

 

PhES 5.0 shall feature a full wide range of local and international keynote speakers, panel discussions with government and corporate Senior Executives, interactive workshops with industry experts and leaders, and presentations from world-leading entrepreneurs and academic researchers – covering topics such as STEM and Higher Engineering Education, sustainable cities and communities, infrastructure development, transportation systems, water resources and sanitation engineering, renewable resource, climate resilience, BioSystems and agriculture, start-up development and engineering entrepreneurship, and Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

 

This shall further be a leeway for more international professional networks and open a platform to discuss emerging trends and latest engineering designs and technology in different engineering industries worldwide and explore new opportunities in creating sustainable and inclusive communities for all through sound engineering practice, innovation, and world-profound excellence.

 

Varacco CEO and ThinnkFarm Founder, Ariestelo Asilo, is a plenary speaker under the theme “Agribusiness.” Aligning with the Summit, he will showcase their COFFEE program or Coffee-based Farming and Entrepreneurship Engagement featuring their projects on farm-to-market road, coffee production through internet of things, coffee social enterprise incubation, and nano-biosensors for coffee.
